How can I Buy tickets?

You can book tickets online through the Darwin Festival website, simply click the Book Now icon on the program page relating to the event for which you would like to purchase tickets.

Where are Festival events located?

Festival events are located all over Darwin. The hub of the Festival is the Star Shell at the Botanic Gardens with events held here each night of the Festival. Some events are held at the Darwin Entertainment Centre, Brown’s Mart Theatre, and other locations in the Darwin CBD. How do I get to Festival events?

To get to the Star Shell by public transport, catch the number 4 bus from either the city or Casuarina to Gilruth Ave and alight at the stop at Mindil Beach. The Botanic Gardens are across the road on the corner of Gardens Rd and Gilruth Ave. For more information on bus schedules ph: 8924 7666 or go to www.nt.gov.au/publictransport. Is there wheelchair access at the Star Shell and other Festival locations?

Darwin festival has a commitment to making our venues and events accessible to patrons with special needs. Please advise box office staff of your needs when booking tickets.

Can I buy food at the Star Shell?

Food will be available from the Star Shell every night of the Festival with a variety of exceptional cuisine to tantalize your tastebuds. A special selection of culinary delights will be on hand from the Hanuman, Demmob, Roma Bar and Pizza A la Carte.

Can I get tickets at the Star Shell?

The Darwin Festival Box Office at the Star Shell will be open from 5.30pm – 8.30pm Sunday to Thursday night of the Festival and 5.30pm - 10.30pm every Friday and Saturday night

How can I get to perform at the Darwin Festival?

Unfortunately we are not accepting new performances into our 2008 program.
If you wish to apply for the 2009 Darwin Festival, you will need to submit a full outline of your proposal (in 200 words) and provide supporting material such as a CD, press releases and artist or company biographies.

Submissions for the 2009 Darwin festival will close at the end of February 2009. Please mark your submissions to the attention of the Artistic Director, Jo Duffy. Submissions to the Darwin Festival are non-returnable – so please do not send master copies of material.

How can I register to volunteer and what does it involve?

Volunteers are a valuable part of the ensuring Festival events run smoothly. Volunteers are required for assistance with public liaison, ticketing, ushering and event logistics. To register, go to the volunteers page on this website and fill in the online registration form. You will be contacted by the volunteer coordinator to discuss your availability and where best to fit you in.
