COVID-19 & You
Our top priority is the health and safety of everyone attending Darwin Festival. We’ve worked tirelessly with the Department of Health to ensure Darwin Festival is a celebration that fits into this different world we live in and have a compliant COVID-19 Safety Plan.
What You Can Do
Enjoying Darwin Festival means following COVID-safe practices at Festival events. With the current restrictions in place that means:
- Wearing a mask at all Festival venues.
- Remaining seated to consume food and beverages.
- Dancing is not permitted.
We strongly encourage you to follow these basic principles:
- Stay at home if you’re feeling unwell.
- Wash and sanitise your hands as often as possible.
- Keep a 1.5 metre distance where you can.
- Download and use the Territory Check in App on your Apple or Android device.
Keeping Our Venues Safe
Darwin Festival has rigorous procedures in place to ensure your safety, including enough space to enable physical distancing in and out of venues, mobile sanitising stations, increased and thorough cleaning schedules and new operational guidelines for food and beverage service. We have made specific considerations in our site design to accommodate physical distancing and hygiene and there will be wellbeing officers onsite to encourage staff and patrons to follow the basic principles.
Capacity is being managed in line with current physical distancing guidelines and approved venue capacities. Entry to Festival Park is guaranteed for those patrons who buy a ticket to a INPEX Sunset Stage show for that night. Masks are required for entry for all patrons over the age of 12 (unless you have a valid exemption). We encourage you to book early to secure your night of fun. BYO picnic rug or cushion so you can spread out and enjoy the food, drink and free entertainment on offer at our Festival hub. You can only eat or drink while seated – and that’s the only time you can remove your mask too.
If you have bought a ticket to a Festival event, please read the event reminder emailed to you prior to the show – it has more details about our venues and COVID responsibilities.
We need everyone to do their bit to keep us all safe. So we ask you to keep a look out for COVID-19 signage at Festival venues and messaging and follow the directions of staff.
