Katy Moir
A HYPOTHETICAL DARWIN
With Lisa Burnett & Amina McConvell
Book TicketsWhat do maps say about us, as a community and what we value? If we were to map what we care about would Darwin still look the same?
In 2019 Katy Moir was selected to complete a Creative in Residency at the Northern Territory Archives. The framework of her residency, ‘A Hypothetical Darwin’, was to research plans and designs for Darwin that were never realised, and to use lessons learned as inspiration for a series of hypothetical designs of her own.
This exhibition shows the process of Moir’s re-mapping of Darwin: extracting and abstracting layers of this place we call home, to tell a different story.
