Francis and Netanela perform as a Sephardic guitar and violin duo, weaving stories into a performance that takes you from medieval Spain to contemporary South America.
Francis Diatschenko is a classical and flamenco guitarist with Argentinian ancestry. Violinist Netanela Mizrahi is the 21st generation of her family born in Jerusalem following the expulsion of Jews from Spain in 1492.
Revitalising Judeo-Spanish music and bringing elements of tango, flamenco and jazz into their works, the duo’s love for improvisation and storytelling in Australia’s Northern Territory presents Sephardic music as evolving, playful, soulful and timeless.
Distanced Duets is a series of intimate concerts performed by members of Arafura Music Collective. The duets can be experienced at stunning homes and gardens around Darwin.
