The Marriage of Figaro

‘Camp, delicious fun.’ ARTSHUB

The Marriage of Figaro is a brilliant comic opera that follows the adventures of a wealthy Seville household over one crazy day. The Count’s servant, Figaro, is marrying Susanna, but the Count wants to seduce her first. Marcellina wants Figaro, young Cherubino wants love wherever he can get it, while the Countess just wants her husband back! Masters are lusting over their servants, servants are outwitting their masters and there is disguise and duplicity everywhere – but will there be a happily ever after?

Award-winning creative duo Michael Gow and Robert Kemp present a brand-new production of Mozart’s timeless classic featuring stunning period costumes and a clever set. For opera fans, all your favourite tunes will be sung in English and accompanied by a chamber orchestra. For first timers, the beautiful music and hilarious antics offer the perfect opera introduction.

It's the Downton Abbey of opera – but a whole lot more fun!
