Brisbane trio The Goon Sax combine post-punk’s taut, nervy energy with sweet, airy tunefulness for an impossibly charming indie-pop sound you’re sure to fall in love with.
Still in high school when they made their first album Up To Anything in 2016, their brand of awkwardly transcendent teenage guitar pop took them into end of year lists for BBC6, Billboard and Rough Trade and off touring to the UK and Europe. Their second album We’re Not Talking sees them all grown up (well 19 anyway!) and taking the enthusiasms of youth and twisting them into darker, more sophisticated shapes. It’s glorious guitar pop that ‘perfectly captures those awkward confusions on the road to adulthood’ (MOJO).
