Man Made
Northern Territory
Dance

When building, mining and the military inform much of the local economy, it is time to ask ourselves what makes a man and what does a man make?

The latest show from Tracks Dance Man Made explores the male as an individual: his habits, idiosyncrasies, passions, talents and drives. It also seeks to understand males as a group: exploring energy, physicality, memory, knowledge, leadership, belonging, work and play.

Hip hop meets contemporary dance as a stellar cast of male dancers aged 16 to 70 explores four states of manhood in connected short works that follow the trajectory of maleness through life. Original scores by David McMicken and Darwin and Sydney based DJ masters James Mangohig and Jack Prest give the beat to choreographies by the Tracks artistic team, joined by D*City Rockers leader Aaron Lim and one of Australia’s most sought-after dancers, Josh Mu.

Experience an exceptional night of dance outdoors under the canopy of the Frog Hollow Park trees, before the area is transformed under ballast and concrete – man made indeed.
