Club Awi is coming at you in 2024 with more zest than ever before!

Longtime curator Kuya James has teamed up with Jocelyn Tribe (DemiRep) as Tangan Collective to bring late night party goers a mix of locally-based tastemakers alongside some friends from WA, Timor Leste and beyond.

Expect a line-up of heavies, whose Boiler Room sets have inspired a new generation of genre-defying magic around the globe, paired up with homegrown heroes and some killer surprise acts. The decks will be sizzling with a delicious melting pot – from afro grooves to jersey club, synth wave to disco, classic R ‘n’ B to new school hip hop.

This year will bring out the true meaning of Club ‘Awi’ – the Tiwi word for everyone – with fresh sounds to get the whole crowd jumping.

FRI 9 AUG
Ayebatonye

Not one to stick to any genre, Ayebatonye’s entrancing sets blend together an array of global electronic sounds bringing together a cornucopia of afro rhythms, deep percussive drum beats, classic house, techno, jersey club and more.

Voodoo Dred – Fueled by a passion for music, ambassador of international roots and culture Voodoo Dred’s sets are a fusion of jungle, drum and bass, hip hop, R ‘n’ B, and a curated selection of regional genres from the U.S., Caribbean and South America.

DJ Ageng Winston & DJ Dora (East Timor)

Two DJs from Timor Leste take over the decks, infusing the air with a vibrant mix of traditional rhythms and contemporary floor fillers. From ancestral beats to modern party anthems, these DJs are gearing up to create a booty-shakin’ bridge across the Timor Sea.

Ouijiee

Ouijiee is a DJ residing in Darwin with a focus on percussive house and electronica. A drummer since he was 12, he has spent more than two decades exploring the vast realms of rhythm and sound.

Monchiichi

Monchiichi (she/her) aka Mons is a bubbling DJ bursting with flava, from Boorloo, WA. She’s heavy on all things high energy, bass and breaks. Her unique sound is inspired by funky electro grooves, global sounds, and dirty basslines. Ranging from genres such as garage, breaks, dubstep, baile funk and jersey club to name a few. Listen out for her specially curated setlist, with the bending and blending of different genres – you are guaranteed to break a sweat 2stepping the night away.

DemiRep x halalbutch – DemiRep and halalbutch are DJs who love to take over the airwaves with blends and mixes of sound that are an extension of their identity.

Rhele
 

Rhele brings to the table his mixed bag of dulcet tones to carry you into the night and get you into the mood. The Naarm-raised, Garramilla-based selecta is not afraid to push the limits, treading the line between fun silly house and progressive techi rhythms. Focusing on curating an inclusive and diverse dance floor his sets bring people together to celebrate the simple pleasures in life… music, dance and friendship.

Peachy Party

Peachy Party creates inclusive and safer spaces for the community to come together, dance, connect and have a peachy keen time. Their focus is on celebrating the diverse LGBTQIA+ arts and culture of the Northern Territory. Featuring fabulous DJs Lazerbeams, Gallery B and Winona Chance as well as other special guests, everyone is invited to the Peachy Party Club Awi takeover.

DJ Agapantha

Agatha is multidisciplinary artist flowing through many mediums to express the intersectionality of her soul – from performing as DJ Agapantha, curating queer-safe events in the Kimberley as part of the working group for Kimberley Blak Pride Festival and hosting High Tide at Goolarri radio station in Broome. You can regularly find Aggie bringing her uplifting party vibes to events in Boorloo and beyond. Having played parties like Lubly Dae, NEST FM, Ndawonye, Hyde Park Hi-fi, expect everything from Techno to Hip Hop and R ‘n’ B with a healthy dose of EDM in the mix. When DJ Agapantha’s behind the decks you know you’re in for a great night!

Fly Waves

From chilled smooth sets to the wettest of sweaty dance floors FLY WAVES is known for her paramount versatility and appreciation of music through eras and countries, from the roots of reggae, hip hop, soul, latin and afrobeat all the way through their electronic evolutions and subcultures.

DJ Wrong Banana


DJ Wrong Banana is a multi-genre DJ who has been creating and engaging dance floors in and around Alice Springs since 2016, playing a huge variety of music from ’80s disco, to hip hop, to house and techno. Regardless of what is played, the infectious sounds of a DJ Wrong Banana set is guaranteed to capture all bodies for some big dance floor energy.
