MARLON WILLIAMS

Supported by David Garnham

More Info

New Zealand’s Marlon Williams possesses one of the greatest voices of his generation.

His effortlessly distinctive tone and heartstring-plucking vibrato have garnered widespread love around the world. Performing solo for this captivating show, Marlon will sing his most loved songs, new material, and both original and traditional Māori Waiata.

Marlon’s music draws on folk and country traditions – he’s often compared to Leonard Cohen, Roy Orbison and Elvis – but what makes him so special is his unique ability to traverse genres on both his award-winning records and in his famously captivating live shows. It has led Marlon around the world in recent years, appearing on Conan, Jools Holland, a film role in A Star Is Born, tours with Bruce Springsteen, Eagles and Florence + The Machine, and duets with Lorde, Courtney Barnett and Brandi Carlile.

Support on the night comes from David Garnham, who looks like a trucker but sings like an angel.

Part larrikin, part broken bird, part bleeding heart, David is awash with contradictions. His songs trail close behind in a mix of hope and hopelessness.  Joined by producer and right-hand human Ben Allen, the pair will present vast swathes of chart-topping hits peppered by new tracks.

Join us at the iconic Darwin Ski Club for this closing weekend performance to remember.
