Darwin Festival is an international arts festival with a local heart. An integral part of our mission is to support the presentation of Northern Territory artists and performers. We proudly provide a high-profile national platform for local artists to showcase their talent alongside the best in current national and international touring work.

Opportunities for NT artists

Each year, we invite Northern Territory artists to submit proposals for consideration in the upcoming Festival. We’re looking for new work or an existing concept with a new twist.

Expressions of interest for the 2021 Festival are now closed.

Transmitter: Darwin x Delhi

Transmitter is an exciting international digital lab conducted by Serendipity Arts Foundation (India) and Darwin Festival (Australia), supported by the Australia Council for the Arts for emerging and mid-career artists who are interested in interdisciplinary practice and paradigm-shifting collaboration.

The Australia Council is offering funding for 2 applicants from India and 2 applicants from Australia (with one position identified for a Northern Territory based artist). Click here for more information on how to apply.

Australian and international artists

Darwin Festival is a fully curated event. We are passionate about connecting with the cultural and artistic diversity of our unique place. Usually we welcome artists from around the world, but that will completely depend on what the world is like next year! Whether border restrictions allow international or interstate guests or not, or we’re relying on mostly local talent, we can promise a program of some of the best arts going around.
