Darwin Festival is an international arts festival with a local heart. An integral part of our mission is to support the presentation of Northern Territory artists and performers. We proudly provide a high-profile national platform for local artists to showcase their talent alongside the best in current national and international touring work.

Opportunities for NT artists

Each year, we invite Northern Territory artists to submit proposals for consideration in the upcoming Festival. We’re looking for new work or an existing concept with a new twist.

We’re currently inviting expressions of interest from art galleries and visual artists to present their art exhibition in Darwin Festival 2020.

To be considered as part of the Darwin Festival Visual Arts program for 2020, we will require the following selection criteria be met:

  • The exhibition takes place during the Festival dates, 6 – 23 August 2020
  • The exhibition has a venue to be presented in
  • Information including artist details, dates of exhibition, venue, exhibition description and a high resolution image can be provided to Darwin Festival by mid April.
To submit your application complete the online form below, full terms and conditions here.

Front Row Industry Development Program

Front Row is an exciting new skills development program for Northern Territory artists facilitated by Darwin Festival and Brown’s Mart Theatre. The program is open to early and mid-career artists, arts workers and writers who are looking to develop their creative and professional skills.

Expressions of interest are now closed for the 2019 Front Row program. Stay tuned for the 2020 program.
