2010- Preparing for a Huge Year!

We are just over a month into 2010 and it’s already shaping up to be a big one for Darwin Festival. New faces, new projects and an exciting new program will no doubt make 2010 a year to remember.

Late last year, we welcomed to the Festival team, our new General Manager Edwina Lunn.  In March we will be joined by new Program Manger Panos Couros who will oversee all artist and program management for the 2010 Darwin Festival. Artistic Director Jo Duffy is currently traveling around Australia (and beyond) in search of new shows to fill the 2010 Festival program.  This year will also see the premier of some exciting new Darwin Festival Produced local works, including the Festival’s flagship event for 2010 - NT choreographer Gary Lang’s new work Goose Lagoon. This haunting new production weaves together ancient traditional dance, story and cultural expression with unique contemporary practices.

Other productions to look out for in the 2010 program include a brand new production of the 2008 Festival highlight, Liberty Songs, as well as a sneak preview of some the new Darwin Festival Produced works to be premiered in 2011.  The 2010 Festival will be held from 12-29 August. Make sure you stay tuned to our website and our E-newsletter for updates, info and news. See you then!
