Step into a world of profound beauty and extraordinary ceremonial knowledge, in the vast desert landscapes of this groundbreaking First Nations work
Crown and Country is a collaboration between Warlpiri philosopher, teacher and visionary Wanta Jampijinpa Pawu-Kurlpurlurnu and
composer Marc “Monkey” Peckham, alongside Wanta’s father, First Contact elder Jerry Jangala Patrick OAM.
At the heart of the work is the voice of Wanta who joins his father, one of the most important Warlpiri songmen alive today and whose traditional singing grounds the work in Warlpiri ceremonial song. Crown and Country translates their deep intergenerational cultural knowledge into an unforgettable immersive experience of film and music, inviting you into a deeper understanding of belonging, connection, and responsibility to Country.
Join us at the 5pm session and hear from the artists after the screening.
