Festival Park is the heart of Darwin Festival but there are plenty of other places around town to check out Festival events.

Find your Festival venue from the list below and click the numbered icon to see its map location. All Darwin Festival venues are smoke free and BYO alcohol is not permitted.

 

Festival Park

    Doors open just prior to show start time.

    The venue has its own toilets and bar. Hot food not permitted in the venue.

    All performances are general admission with some fully seated performances and others with only limited seating. Please see individual event
    pages for details. You are welcome to bring a blanket to sit on the grass for My Sunburnt Soundtrack but other people in the audience may choose to stand to see the show.

    This venue is wheelchair accessible but includes areas of grass terrain. There is an accessible toilet located outside in Festival Park.

    Accessible drop off is available by Smith Street entrance and allocated access parking  is located in the city of Darwin car park located on Harry Chan Avenue.

  • Power and Water Bamboo Bandstand, Festival Park

  • Open from Fri 5 Aug to Sun 21 Aug. Closed Mondays.

    Entry to Festival Park is via the gate on Smith Street.

    Bars and food stalls open daily, 5pm until late. Card payment preferred.

    There is no ATM located inside Festival Park – the closest is located in Smith Street Mall. Note, we encourage contactless engagement and card payment is preferred.

    This venue is wheelchair accessible with an accessible toilet. Includes areas of grass terrain. Allocated accessible on-street parking is available at the rear of Brown’s Mart Theatre (Cnr Smith St & Harry Chan Ave) or at front of Darwin City Library.

    Accessible drop off is at the Civic Centre/Darwin City Library car park, with access to Festival Park via the security gate. Please note this is not the main entrance into Festival Park this year and members of the general public without access needs will be redirected to Smith Street entrance.

  • Brown's Mart Rehearsal Room

    This venue is located on the first floor and is NOT wheelchair accessible. Patrons are required to go up a flight of stairs.

  • Brown's Mart Studio

    Events in this venue are general admission seating.

    There is a strict lockout for all performances in this venue and children under two years of age are not permitte.

    This venue is wheelchair accessible with an accessible toilet located near the Theatre foyer. Allocated accessible parking is available in the City of Darwin car park located on Harry Chan Avenue.

    Friends of the Festival receive priority entry to performances at this venue.

    Due to liquor licensing requirements, drinks purchased at Brown’s Mart Theatre Courtyard bar or Festival Park must be consumed in their respective venues and cannot be carried for consumption between the two venues.

Darwin Amphitheatre

    Bar and food stalls open at Buŋgul and Tim Minchin. No BYO alcohol. Unsealed bottles not permitted.

    Food and drink stalls open at National Indigenous Music Awards. This is an alcohol-free event. Glass and unsealed bottles not permitted.

    This venue is includes areas of grass terrain but is suitable for assisted wheelchair access. There is an accessible toilet.

    Please note Gardens Road will be closed between Chin Quan Road and Gilruth Avenue for Buŋgul, Tim Minchin and the National Indigenous Music Awards on the night of the show.

    Vehicles displaying a disability parking permit may access parking through the entrance to the George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens on Gardens Road via traffic management. Access to the venue is from Gilruth Avenue only.

    There is only limited accessible car parking available at the venue.

Transport

Ride FREE on Darwin Public Transport with a Darwin Festival event ticket for that same day. Present your e-ticket or paper ticket to the driver to ride free. Each person travelling must be holding a valid Festival ticket or normal fares apply.

Bus routes 4, 6 and 14 travel throughout the Darwin CBD stopping near key Festival venues and galleries.

Bus routes 4 and 6 travel within walking distance of George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens and the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory.

Take bus route 6 to visit Darwin Railway Club and Parap art galleries and bus route 4 or 10 to Charles Darwin University.
