L.A.B

Buy TicketsDarwin, there is something ‘In the Air’ on our opening Saturday
In just five short years, L.A.B have grown into one of the most-popular and busiest acts in New Zealand music. Their mix of reggae, electronic, blues and funk all combine to create a sound entirely their own.
They’ve performed at almost every major festival across NZ and entertained sold-out crowds on headline Australian tours. Now they’re heading to Darwin for the first time, bringing their much-loved catalogue plus hits from their number one new album, L.A.B VI.
Joining them on the night are masters of Yolŋu funk, the Andrew Gurruwiwi Band, bringing their powerhouse sound from the beaches of Birrtjimi, Gunaŋara and Yirrkala in Northeast Arnhem Land. This is the band’s Darwin Festival debut after stunning audiences across Australia at festivals including WOMADelaide, Golden Plains and St Kilda Festival in the wake of their first album Sing Your Own Song.
Juran will also be bringing her sultry vocals and genre-bending grooves in support. A singer, guitarist and lyrical force of nature, Juran leads her band Za Za Zoo, an instrumental outfit so tight, it’s like they’re hardwired to the same pulse. Made up of Darwin legends Evan Saunders, James Mangohig and Rowan Dally, they swirl R&B, reggae, punk rock and metal into a sonic smoothie that’s somehow both otherworldly and right in your face.
This is the perfect fun night of world class music for your Festival opening weekend!
