FESTIVAL PARK EXPANDS, SPIEGELTENT RETURNS AND MAHO MAGIC BAR DEBUTS

Darwin Festival returns from 10-27 August 2023, inviting you to immerse yourself in a tropical wonderland filled with music, theatre, comedy, dance, cabaret, visual arts, and family fun. This year, the Festival unveils its newly expanded Festival Park Precinct, designed to accommodate an even greater range of entertainment options, enhancing the attendee experience, and showcasing the best of Northern Territory culture and hospitality.

The Festival Park Precinct includes the beloved Festival Park and new area Festival Lawn, situated in front of Parliament House. As the sun sets, excited crowds will gather in the expanded precinct to enjoy a variety of entertainment options, from theatre shows to free music gigs, buzzing bars and local food vendors.

This exciting expansion sets the stage for the much-anticipated return of a Spiegeltent for the Festival and its spectacular show, Blanc de Blanc Encore, as well as the debut of the dazzling Maho Magic Bar. Both will operate for the duration of the Festival from the new Festival Lawn location.

The Spiegeltent returns to Darwin Festival with the world-class cabaret sensation, Blanc de Blanc Encore, featuring a new all-star international cast that wowed audiences in three sell-out seasons in Sydney. Experience vintage French flair, spectacular aerials, and sparkling comedy in the expanded Festival Park Precinct.

Maho Magic Bar brings a neon-lit Tokyo night to the Festival Lawns, featuring close-up magic and captivating performances. This unique experience, part show and part bar, promises amazement, cocktails, and laughter.

“We are thrilled to unveil the expanded Festival Park Precinct for Darwin Festival 2023, creating a more vibrant and dynamic space for our audience to enjoy,” said Festival Director Kate Fell. “With the much-anticipated return of The Spiegeltent after four years, and the addition of the amazing Maho Magic Bar, we are sure this year’s Festival will deliver an unforgettable experience for both locals and visitors alike. Connect with friends and family in Festival Park for a feast of food, arts, and culture. Each night, you can experience exhilarating circus, music, comedy and cabaret acts on the INPEX Sunset Stage.”

Whether you’re a local or an interstate visitor, Darwin Festival is the perfect way to experience the best of Northern Territory culture and hospitality.
