Presented by Darwin Visual Arts
Artist Alan Ogrin has been living in Australia for ten years now, since leaving Ireland in search of new opportunities. Four of those years have been spent in Darwin, which – like Ireland – has amazing sunrises and sunsets.
Alan started to paint when COVID-19 began to spread across the globe. His 23 years working in the panel beating industry definitely ‘rubbed off’, giving him something of an artistic talent and eye for detail, since lines, levels and colours are part of his daily routine. For the past year he has lived on the 12th floor of a high rise building in Parap that overlooks the entire city, the Botanical Gardens, Casino and Mindil Beach and most of his art reflects those views and the iconic Northern Territory thunderstorms.
