Presented by Darwin Festival and Deckchair Cinema
We shine a spotlight on two very different Canadian films that show us the world from a First Nations’ and refugee perspective.
While the rest of the world seems further away than ever, film can remind us of how much we have in common. The two films screening this Festival offer a new look at issues that resonate in Australia right now.
The lives of three women are connected by a box that resurfaces containing notebooks, photographs and audiotapes in the Canadian-Lebanese-French drama Memory Box. This fresh, poignant and deeply personal film documents a great part of Lebanese history through the lives of its characters.
Before the screening enjoy live music from Lilly and Greer playing gentle, indie folk melodies, with elements of mandolin, violin and guitar accompaniment.
