More Info

Ripple Effect Band launch the next single ‘Loving and Caring’ from their upcoming debut album Mayawa at The Rails.

Ripple Effect Band are an all-woman’s band coming from Maningrida, West Arnhem Land. Following in the tradition of saltwater rock from the Top End, they are forging a new sound as the first women from their community to make their own band. They sing in the languages of their people, Ndjébbana, Burarra, Na-kara and Kune, and they have a story to tell about their land, their languages and their culture.

Coming off the back of their performance at Womadelaide earlier this year, the band will launching a new single ‘Loving and Caring’ in a moving tribute to the songwriter Tara Rostron’s sister. The song introduces a new pop style to the band’s repertoire and features Tara rapping in her language of Kune. It goes out with a strong message of care and support for lovers, families and friends.

Ripple Effect Band is ready to rock the stage and touch your hearts at this special single launch. Don’t miss this stellar show sharing language, culture and a celebration of confident women playing powerful rock music.
