Gill Hicks explores the wonder of knowing life through facing death; how the lows make the highs even higher!
Laugh, maybe cry or sit and ponder as Gill shares experiences that offer a plethora of insight and wisdom. Through gripping narrative, jazz favourites and stunning projections of Gill’s visual art, audiences are taken on a profound journey, carefully designed to open hearts and minds and hold space with the triumphs driven by love.
This special performance features Dr. Julian Ferraretto on saw and violin and Dylan Paul on double bass, together creating an immersive musical landscape that enhances Gill’s powerful storytelling.
Gill Hicks is one of the most thought provoking, powerful and life affirming speakers in the country. She is globally known as a survivor of the London terrorist Bombings on 7 July 2005. She survived, but suffered severe and permanent injuries, losing both legs from just below the knee. This powerful account of her story is a reminder of our shared humanity. Gill comes to Darwin after a one-off UK performance commemorating the 20th anniversary of the London bombings.
Still Alive (and Kicking) is a transformative hour that will leave a lasting impact, a footprint on your soul.
