Darwin Festival Wins Gold at the 2022 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards

We’re excited to announce that we were awarded Gold in the Major Festivals & Events category at the 2022 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards held in Sydney on 17 March. The awards, run by the Australian Tourism Industry Council (ATIC), recognise and promote excellence in tourism across the country.

We were up against some stiff competition with finalists including Bluesfest Byron Bay NSW, Adelaide Fringe SA, Tesselaar KaBloom VIC and AFL Grand Final 2021 WA.

The award is especially pleasing as it recognises the incredible Festival that was put on during the rollercoaster ride of uncertainty that was 2021.

James Gough, Darwin Festival CEO, said, “We are thrilled to have won the Gold award in the Major Festivals & Events category at the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards. This award is a recognition of the hard work and dedication of our team, artists, volunteers and partners who make Darwin Festival possible. It is also a celebration of the vibrant arts and culture scene community in the Northern Territory, and we are proud to showcase it to audiences from across the country and the world.”

For now the team are hard at work finalising an amazing program for Darwin Festival 2023.
