Gordon Koang just might be the biggest musical legend you’ve never heard!
Born in what is now South Sudan, Gordon and his cousin, Paul Biel, began playing gospel music and historical tales and were soon selling self-produced indie CDs and tapes. His reputation grew and grew until he was in high demand everywhere in his homeland and became known as the ‘King of Music’.
This charismatic refugee musician is now taking the Australian music world by storm, including being awarded the prestigious Levis Music Prize at BIGSOUND 2019. Experience his wild blend of traditional Nuer rhythms and African pop beats under the stars as Gordon and his band spread a message of peace, love and unity – dancefloor style.
