Darwin Festival 2024 x Laundry Gallery Merchandise

Laundry Gallery is excited to present an exclusive merchandise range for Darwin Festival 2024 in collaboration with Chris Black of Jilamara Arts.

Chris is a Tiwi man from Milikapiti on Melville Island. He is part of the large Miartuwee clan and a long line of ancestors who practice telling stories through Jilamara – Tiwi ochre designs that draw on ceremonial body painting, creation stories, and family totems. Chris’ artwork is a unique contemporary celebration of the Tiwi family totems that are important to him, such as Jarranga (buffalo) and Yirrikipaya (crocodile).
