Nineteen-year-old Brisbane songwriter and producer Sasha McLeod is Sycco and she’s the brightest rising star in music right now..
With her colourful, psychedelic-pop sonics, crystal clear melodies and charismatic charm, this indie pop powerhouse has established herself as one of Australia’s most promising and popular new artists. Her first ever national tour, comprising 12 shows in three cities, sold out in less than 48 hours, so we’re stoked to announce she’s headlining the INPEX Sunset Stage for the Festival.
It’s been a huge year for Sycco so far, winning two trophies at the 2021 Queensland Music Awards, including Song of the Year for ‘Dribble,’ and earning three NIMA nominations. ‘Dribble’ came in at No. 29 on the triple j Hottest 100 for 2020, and she’s just scored $15,000 as a winner of the Levi’s Music Prize, in partnership with Bigsound. And to top it all off her debut EP is out this Friday.
Don’t miss your chance to see the gig all of Darwin will be talking about.
