Join Whistling Kite New Music for a series of stunning concerts inspired by birdsong.
Led by Artistic Director Nick Yates, Whistling Kite New Music is the NT’s foremost group dedicated to the performance of contemporary art music. Made up of some of the NT’s finest instrumentalists, they are committed to bringing new and little-known works to Top End audiences.
The setting sun over Darwin’s historic Audit House provides the perfect backdrop for a captivating program of music centred around the NT premiere of Western Australian composer Emma Jayakumar’s ‘Bell Birds’. This beautiful string quartet features alongside ethereal music for flute and clarinet by the enigmatic Italian composer Giacinto Scelsi and other works in a musical event that takes flight.
